| A motorist has been jailed for six months after hitting a pedestrian, running from her car and then lying to police that it had been stolen.Sian Walker, 33, of Rhos on Sea had admitted dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident and not reporting it. The pedestrian was seriously injured when Walker lost control of her Ford Focus at between 50mph and 70mph. Walker was also banned from driving for five years at Caernarfon Crown Court. The college finance officer, who is also a mother and had no previous convictions, hit the pedestrian as she drove round a bend in Prince's Drive, Colwyn Bay. He suffered a broken thigh and kneecap, and spent five days in hospital after having metal pins inserted. Judge John Rogers told Walker: "I have to sentence you for a very bad piece of dangerous driving."On that night you were both irresponsible and dishonest." | ||
