A man armed with knives and who barricaded himself in a burning house was rescued by police who stunned him with a Taser gun.
North Wales Police were called to the house at Rhos on Sea, Conwy at around 0100 BST on Friday.
Officers said the man had barricaded himself into an upstairs bedroom.
North Wales Fire put out the blaze which police say did not pose a risk to nearby houses. The man, rescued without injury, remains in police custody.
